Miss Cinthia- Owner/Teacher/ Artistic Director
Miss Cinthia started her dance career at the age of 2 ½ years old and continued to take every dance class available to her. When Cinthia realized that this was her true passion and knew she wanted to make dance a career, she began student teaching at the age of fourteen and has been teaching dance to children and adults for nine years. She auditioned for the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts (LVPA) and made it. She graduated from LVPA in 2007 and in August 2007 she attended Cedar Crest College. She graduated with high honors from Cedar Crest College in May 2011 with a double major in Dance (B.A.) and Psychology (B.A.). While in College, Cinthia had the opportunity to hold the position of President of Nu Delta Alpha (the dance honor society), have one of her many choreographed pieces adjudicated at the American College Dance Festival where her piece was seen and highly reviewed by thousands of dance professionals, had three internships, was in all five of the dance companies which performed two dance concerts per year, and she choreographed many pieces for the Student Choreographers concert. She was also the dance company manager for two years and the dance office assistant during her senior year of college, where she worked side by side with the dance faculty and learned the ins and outs of running a college level dance program. For the past three years, Cinthia has been dancing with Monarch, which is a professional dance company that performs in the Lehigh Valley, New York, and Philadelphia areas. Cinthia continues her dance education by attending dance teacher conventions, taking dance classes in New York and Philadelphia, and by researching and staying up to date on the latest trends and the proper dance techniques.
Dedrea Becker is from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and began her studies as a dancer at Miss Jeanne’s School of Dance Arts at the age of three. As a teenager she danced competitively for Miss Jeanne’s Elite Team, where she also began student teaching classes. She was the dance caption and president of Freedom High School’s Theatre Company, where she was also nominated for a Freddy award in 2011 for her role as a featured dancer. While there, she also had the opportunity to be the choreographer of one of the school’s musicals. Dedrea has performed with a few dance companies and also earned a walk on role in the touring Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker while she was dancing at Miss Jeanne’s. She is currently working on obtaining a B.A. in Marketing as well as in Dance. She has performed in many student and faculty choreographed shows as well as choreographed pieces for shows. Dedrea has worked for Prestige Productions Summer Acting Camp since 2009 as the assistant choreographer, and has choreographed pieces for Immerging Artist Concerts. She has also choreographed a number of shows for Third Mask Theatre Company since 2012. She continues to take workshops from various choreographers and loves teaching her students.
Missy grew up dancing in the Lehigh Valley. She graduated with a B.A. in Dance and a B.A. in Theatre from Cedar Crest College. Upon graduating she began dancing professionally for the Monarch Dance Company under the direction of Tabatha Robinson-Scott. With Monarch, she has performed at the Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center and various venues in the tri-state area. In 2014, Missy was promoted to Assistant Director of the company. She has served as a choreographer at the Pennsylvania Playhouse since 2010. Her credits include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Drowsy Chaperone, State Fair, The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Annie Get Your Gun, The Music Man, and Big, the Musical. Missy is also a guest choreographer for In Motion Dance Company in Chester, NJ. Her piece, Amour Propre, was selected to be performed at Carnegie Hall and the Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater. In 2013 & 2014 two of her pieces were selected to be performed at the Spring Up Dance Festival’s Emerging Artist Showcase. Missy is on the faculty at Nardi Dance Studios and East Coast Dance Connection. She is excited for her first year at Cartesian!
